How to upload to Instagram from your desktop computer.
Instagram makes it very difficult to post or upload images from a desktop computer.
Many people would like to process their images and video before posting to their Instagram account. Some people use dedicated DSLRs or prosumer video cameras to record their content, and if you’re looking to process or edit the mages on your desktop computer, you will find the workflow difficult. There are third party apps that will post, but you need to give your login to them.
Here’s a super simple way to accomplish the task. (This is tested for Windows 7, but should work for other platforms)
When you install an Android emulator, you’re adding a virtual android device to use just as you would a tablet or phone. I use one called MEmu. I am not affiliated in any way with this company, and the software is free, and it works well. Just install it and you can login to your IG account and post images from any folder on your computer. Another benefit is you can use your regular keyboard to caption your images, which helps when you want to get a bit more descriptive in your posts.
*When you access the Google Play store for the first time, you may get the error “RH-01”. If you go into MEmu settings, you will find a dropdown with device types like iPhone, Samsung, etc. After changing the device to another preset, restart MEmu. You may have to try a couple of different devices to enable it to connect to the Google Play store. From there you can download the IG app and continue as if you were on any Android device.
Hope it helps!
